Wrongfully Convicted.  Wrongfully Incarcerated.

Kris Helton has been asked to help create and head an innocence project!

Posted by Kris Fargo on July 18, 2014 at 3:30 PM

Kris Helton has just concluded a three-hour meeting with Rev. Derrick Moseley, a representative for Rev. Charles Williams, the Bethel Gospel Tabernacle, and the United Pentecostal Council Assemblies of God, to gauge his interest in helping them create an innocence project which he can later head following his release from prison.

It is anticipated that the innocence project will operate much like Centurion Ministries, Inc. (www.CenturionMinistries.org), using a highly specialized team of paralegals, legal investigators, and attorneys to carefully screen, review, investigate, and present the state and federal courts with credible claims of actual innocence and manifest injustice.

However, this innocence project will also assist the innocent and others wrongfully convicted in their efforts to seek parole and request executive clemency when relief is not readily available though the courts, lend a hand with their reentry and transition after being released from prison, and help them obtain compensation for their wrongful incarcerations.

Of course, Rev. Moseley believes that Kris is uniquely qualified to create and head an innocence project like this because he has a formal legal and business education, invaluable personal experience with the investigation and presentation of his very own claim of actual innocence, and more than two decades of unprecedented success in helping other state prisoners with their claims of actual innocence and manifest injustice.

Considering everything that he has been through, working so hard for more than two decades to free himself and so many others for crimes they did not commit (and having such tremendous success with so many different cases throughout the State of Florida), Kris is undoubtedly qualified to create and head an innocence project like this! Plus, his impressive resume includes the successful completion of the Professional Paralegal Certification Course at the State University of New York, The College at Old Westbury in Old Westbury, New York; the Legal Investigation Certificate Program at the State University of New York, Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York; and the Advanced Paralegal Certificate Course at Wagner College in Staten Island, New York with incredibly high grades! In case anyone is interested in seeing them, I have posted color copies of these professional certificates in the photos section of this website.

I visited with Kris at Avon Park C.I. recently . . . and you can check out the photos on this website! Anyway, I agree that he is more than capable of creating and running an innocence project! Besides doing all of those other things to help the innocent and wrongfully convicted, I think that this particular innocence project will differ from so many others in that Kris will be able to use this group?s incredible social media presence (something like 31,000+ Facebook group members, 100,000 Twitter followers, etc.) to help free other innocent people . . . and do it on a scale never seen before! For example, Centurion Ministries, Inc., an absolutely wonderful organization, usually works on about 20 cases at a time, approximately half of what Kris is currently working on while incarcerated in a state prison . . . and he is doing it without the benefit of a dedicated team of paralegals, legal investigators, and attorneys! We just need to get him out ASAP so that he can start work on this thing!

Does anyone know exactly when will Kris Helton be released so that he head this new innocence project?

We are hopeful that Kris Helton will be released sooner rather than later, thus allowing him start work on this new innocence project. Indeed, the innocent and wrongfully convicted throughout this country can sure use his expertise and help in securing some much-needed relief.

First of all, we believe that the federal judge, Donald Middlebrooks, can help make all of this happen rather quickly by simply making a favorable a decision on the motion which Kris just filed in May 2014. A copy of the pleading has been posted on the photos page of this website for everyone to see. You can also check out our video plea for help which we posted on the videos page of this website and on www.YouTube.com.

Next, we believe that the state attorney, Catherine Vogel, can also help free Kris, thereby getting this new innocence project off the ground without any further delays, by simply filing a motion to dismiss the indictment filed against him in his criminal case. You can watch our video plea for help which we posted on videos page of this website and on www.YouTube.com.

Finally, we believe that the clemency board, i.e., Rick Scott, Pam Bondi, Jeff Atwater, and Adam Putnam, can help get things moving along sooner rather than later by simply commuting the life sentence which Kris is currently serving. A copy of the written request for commutation of sentence is posted on the photos page of this website for everyone to see. You can also check out our video plea for help which is posted on the videos page of this website and on www.YouTube.com).

However, if Kris is forced to wait for the parole commission to act, his release will not be anytime before August 2016, thus unnecessarily delaying everything for a couple of years! We do not believe that the innocent and wrongfully convicted, including Kris, should have to wait that long!

Everything with this innocence project seems to be contingent on Kris being freed . . .

Yes, the whole thing is dependent on Kris being released from prison because he cannot head an innocence project while locked up!

Well, let's all hope and pray that someone does something for Kris real soon! Indeed, he should have been released years ago . . . and we all know that other innocents and the wrongly convicted can use his expertise to secure their freedom!

Kris Helton has absolutely no fear of visiting the innocent and wrongfully convicted wherever they may be incarcerated. Indeed, Kris is universally liked and respected by Caucasians, African-Americans, Hispanics, Christians, Jews, Muslims, prison administrators, prison guards, etc.

This is because everyone knows that Kris Helton should be freed and that he will continue to have remarkable success outside of prison while heading this new innocence project!

I am convinced Kris Helton will do a fine job running this innocence project. Can anyone else think of someone more qualified to run an innocence project than him?

An excellent candidate to run an innocence project would be a wrongfully convicted person who was able to clear his/her name. This individual seems more than qualified to help other wrongfully convicted people clear their names.

Kris Helton is the right man for the job! We just have to get him out of prison first!

A favorable decision on the motion which Kris Helton recently filed in federal court would be very nice right now because it would allow him to start work on this new innocence project within days of his release!

This man is ideal for the job! If I was wrongfully convicted, I would want him and his innocence project trying to get me out of jail!
